State of emergency announced in Lima due to floods

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte has activated the armed forces and national police following the Yaku Cyclone last week. The National Meteorological Service earlier declared a red alert in the metropolitan area of Lima in response to flooding following heavy rains brought by the cyclone.
